The Great Pyramid still contains structures that modern instruments can reveal without dismantling its stonework. In 2017, the ScanPyramids collaboration reported a void above the Grand Gallery with a minimum length of 30 metres. Three independent analyses using different muon detectors supported the finding. A separate North Face Corridor, behind the entrance chevrons, was precisely characterised in a 2023 paper as roughly nine metres long and two metres across. These are distinct features. Their detection is strong evidence of unseen architecture; the purpose and exact form of the Big Void require further investigation.

Muon imaging uses naturally occurring particles to infer how much material lies along a path through the pyramid. A region transmitting more particles than expected can indicate less dense material or empty space. Independent detector technologies strengthen the interpretation while still leaving the architecture to be characterised.
The Big Void and North Face Corridor are separate discoveries. Treating them as one chamber muddles location, dimensions and the work actually reported. Neither a density measurement nor a corridor image supplies an inventory of unknown contents or proves a particular ritual purpose.
This is an example of a mystery becoming more precise rather than simply disappearing. The existence of unseen architecture is strongly evidenced. Geometry, access, sequence and purpose become the next questions. An engineering space, a construction-related feature and a room for another use must be evaluated against additional evidence.

Where the evidence stops.
A measured void is not evidence of treasure or a hidden civilisation. The 2017 paper did not establish its intended purpose. The photograph shows the Giza complex, not the void itself.

Once an unseen space is detected, what would distinguish a chamber from a construction feature?
